TESTIMONIAL:

Rica vom Leerburg

Rica vom Leerburg Lucy/Dylan pup, Call name Gisela is doing great. What a handful! She learns quickly, but what a hard head! Our tracking is coming along slowly due to getting a good weather window and my crazy schedule, nothing routine in my life, besides walking the dogs at 6:30 a.m. (Whether I'm getting up for work or coming home from work!) She definitely has a nose for tracking, loves to keep her nose down for walks and take it all in!

Her temperament is wonderful! She loves her family and can be a real suck (shoving her face in yours, ears flat in her 'seal' impression and giving you kisses) I was lucky to have had the opportunity to socialize her well and it shows, really good around children.

Her obedience has been purely motivational to this point and she is doing good at her down stays and recalls. She is getting very strong now and her teeth have been coming in beautifully. During the day she either comes with me to work or stays in her outdoor kennel or pals around with my other half. At night, she is in the house with us, she has adapted beautifully to everything.

By the way, I love her sable coloring! It has been a joy watching the myriad of colorations as she matures. Of course photos are included so you can have a look at our happy, healthy girl. Will keep in touch. Take Care!

Aloha!

Just to let you know that I am a retired Police canine Sergant that spent spent nearly 30 years with the Honolulu Police Dept. I am currently with the State of Hawaii Sheriff Canine Unit on a contract basis. I have had the opportunity to train with police officers from across the world. All I can say Ed, you do know your ----! and know it quite well. I am impressed with your training tapes and articles and chuckle at your comments. All I can say is you helped me, my unit, and the people of the State of Hawaii. If I ever get the opportunity to bring someone from the mainland in, after your name I wouldn't list anyone else. You are indeed a Master Trainers, trainer (if that makes sense)!

Just a thought to let you know you are greatly appreciated!

Derby/Rabiat daughter, (Ilka v. Leerburg), Rene, (DOB: 5/24/99) remains a great pleasure to have as a family member! We are coming up on 8 months and she is maturing well. She was spayed 12/21/99 and recovered in no time. My youngest daughter asked if Rene could have just one puppy before the 'operation' which prompted a lengthy discussion in reproductive biology.

Rene remains extremely outgoing and greets all friends with enthusiasm. She appears to take cue from us when new individuals approach and spends more time taking notice prior to overwhelming them with affection. I do notice that she is becoming more aware of the physical behavior and proximity to me those strangers have. She remains other dog friendly (those that she is familiar with) and is big pals with a male husky and a female Newfoundlander that greet us every morning on our walk. She is very mouthy and will make you pay dearly should you hold the tennis ball too long. Tracking is phenomenal. We are doing tracks of 250 - 300 meters with dirt, grass, and gravel surfaces in a river bottom / creek area. She is so motivated that she blows right over the treats left on the track with her nose stuck two inches off the ground. I have been using the two handled bite tube and some hot dogs as reward at the end of most tracks and she just goes nuts. Right now all our bite work centers around trying to catch the tug and just fun play like that.

She is tipping the scales at near 55 lb. and I was told by the vet she would most likely level off around 60 lb. Her size and weight is ideal for our small house. Thanks again for your great selection of the ideal K9 for our needs.

Hi Ed just wanted to send you some photos of Inga doing some puppy tug work, and to let you know how happy we are with her. She is so high in all drives - tracking, bit work, and obedience. I see her scoring high when its time for Sch.1, but we still have time for that. I hope my wife will be able to get his B next fall. I will keep you posted on he progress thanks again for this wonderful working dog I say again WORKING DOG.

Ed,

I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for Rally, our newest pup from Ron/Danu. Rally is the sixth Leerburg dog I have had since 1993. He has quite a motor in him, and he's typical of the highest quality one would expect in a GSD. I have to say I think you have, by your breeding program, and training videos, have set yourself apart from everyone else. Leadership doesn't come without a cost. Thank you for your leadership in this area's.

Good day,
Just wanted to drop you a line regarding our new pup from Danu-Ron. Picked him up from the Albany NY airport, Lex seemed very alert and calm, he was in a dry clean crate. We took him out and the pup relieved himself and we socialized a little.

This pup is a handsome blk & tan, solid body nice structure overall, very outgoing.

After letting him relax in our home we introduced our male 1/2 American- 1/2 German Shepherd to him with excellent results our adult is very gentle with puppies, Lex was ecstatic to see Sumo, they play well together but we still supervise so there wont be any accidental injuries to the pup.

This pup already knows his trigger words to relieve himself, I'm not allowing too much contact with the adult male as I want Lex to bond more with humans than to become too doggy, and it seems to be working well. I have brought him out for a couple of brief social calls to some busy spots then I bring him home to reflect on his trips.

I am sure this pup will be the working dog I was looking for and I thank you for your expert help in preparing him for the world. I have taken some nice photos and will load them when I get them back.

Hello Ed,
I would like to update you on how Nadja Vom Leerburg (Anja/Orfey pup) is doing. Nadja is coming along great as expected. Her trip from Minnesota to Sacramento was long. Despite her long trip she was in good spirit. She was happy and eager to please. She loves the ball on a string and we have begun using gunny sacks to develop her bite and prey drive. We have begun socializing her with other people and dogs from a local Sch club. She is showing great drive, biting the sack with a full mouth grip. She is a little alligator. The helpers from the club have noticed her strong prey drive and have commented that she has more drive than some of the older pups in the club. Not to mention that she is only 3 months old and is the youngest pup out there. She has a lot of potential and is always willing to work. I wanted to thank you for sending me such a wonderful pup. She is all that we had expected and then sum.

I thought you would like to know that Ms. Nixe vom Leerburg was the star attraction among the SAR dog handlers present at a NASAR conference held this past weekend in North Carolina. Everyone who met her was impressed with her drive, her intelligence, her inquisitiveness, her enthusiasm, her friendliness, her beauty, her confirmation, etc. You might say this Anja/Orphrey Leerburg pup "knocked their socks off!" She had the time of her life -- so many people to lick and sniff and lots of dogs to play with! Even at 12 weeks of age, she is exhibiting traits of an excellent SAR dog. She is fearless - yet cautious as was evident in her investigation of a smoke bomb. She was introduced to cadaver scent and reacted by pawing and barking at it. Two other young dogs introduced to the scent turned away in a replusive manner. She will definitely be able to function as a cadaver dog. She also enthusiastically searched for me in our run-away exercises.

She is growing very fast and has started to lose her puppy coat (at least down the middle of her back where she has a beautiful streak of glossy black fur). She sleeps through the night and was very good at staying quiet through seminar lectures (although she did make funny little sighs and noises from time to time). She has wonderful energy and drive and never wants to quit (playing, chewing, or eating!).

In short, we are quite smitten with her.

Dear Mr. Frawley & Jeri Ann:

Ranger will be five months old this eighth of September. I love her so much and she is so loyal and smart. A little independent but that is good. I have given her all the love and attention I can and let me tell you about bonding. I can't go to the rest room without her laying outside my door. Gosh I love her so much! She is healthy and has lost most of her baby teeth. The vet is a good one and seems to like her a great deal.

Thank you so much for the very FINE dog! I am extremely pleased. By the way she is the most beautiful dog in the County and may be the State. She has striped tan toes and is mostly solid black. I will get a picture one of these days and send it your way. Thank You both again!

Hey Ed,

I have a Loki/ Ron DOB 67-99. Just a little update on Lakota-Apollo, I went to Chicago for a 20 year Class reunion and took Apollo with me. He tolerated the 13 hour drive extremely well by sleeping in his crate and relieving himself in the grass in the rest areas. I was so proud of him and the way he behaves in new areas and surroundings. I have been taking him everywhere too. I even took him in the Ramada in to check out my girlfriend from the hotel. While I was at the desk he laid on the floor and waited patiently for me to finish. One lady commented that "I didn't even know a dog was in here." Even my mother (who is not an avid dog lover) called him her "Granddog" That is a huge compliment coming from her. I even caught here petting him too. Needless to say I am happy with my investment. Only one negative incident Apollo was bitten in the muzzle by a bigger dog behind a gate. I think it was my fault because I forgot how territorial fenced in dogs can be. He cried but he shook it off. I think he has learned not to trust strange dogs because now he growls at them.

Howdy!
I just wanted to let you know that Scout, my 12 week old Ron x Faith pup, is outstanding! I am tickled senseless. He seems to be incredibly intelligent and is learning at an amazing rate. During his first day here I caught him getting ready to have a BM on the floor. I reprimanded him, led him to and outside the door and into the yard. He continued. That evening he went to the glass sliding door and scratched on it. I thought to myself, "no way," but he went outside and did his thing in the yard. He has yet to go in the house. Now as far as peeing, well, he peed on just about everything there for awhile but that only lasted about a week.

I wish you could see him with our 5 year old Orfey x Hannah female. I'm pretty sure she thinks we got him for her. She has shown no jealousy at all. She treats him with all the affection that she would her own pup and she rarely gets rough with him. When she does, though, he takes it and dishes it back out. He is a tough little guy.

His drive is super. He retrieves balls and releases them on an "aus" command. I have given no corrective training, he just picked up on this from saying "aus" when I removed the ball from his mouth. He is truly a wonderful dog and much more than I thought was possible. I'll try to keep you informed of his progress.

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You,

TESTIMONIALS FROM RECENT PUPPY CUSTOMERS:

Dear Ed,

We've completed our first week (3-16-97) with our Orfey/Faith male puppy, and we couldn't be happier. He is everything we hoped he would be and more.

I picked him up at Buffalo airport last Friday afternoon thinking he would be very stressed from having been separated from his littermates and traveling most of the day. Wrong! After getting home he ate a cup of Eukanuba large breed puppy and then proceeded to explore and play until bedtime.

We had forgotten how much a puppy cuts into your sleeping time. The only night he really complained was the first, getting us up about 4 times...not bad...and once convinced we would not give in he has been sleeping well in the crate next to the bed with only 1 trip outside per overnight.

His prey drive is incredible and I have already got him playing the "two ball" game. He loves it when the ball rolls away slowly so he can pounce on it like a cat. He is very mouthy as we had expected and we are trying to distract him with appropriate things to bite on, other than our pant legs. His eye contact with us is incredible, you can really see the intelligence behind those eyes. My last GSD (backyard bred, I didn't know any better)couldn't look straight at you for more than two seconds.

We took him to the vet on Monday and he got a clean bill of health, she was impressed with the worming and shot schedule you sent with Gromit. He needed no shots on his first visit and was negative for worms.

We have had him out with us on several occasions to expose him to other people and places. He greets people enthusiastically and is not at all put off by loud noises, cars driving by next to the sidewalk, the waves off Lake Ontario on a windy day, staircases or anything else we have thrown at him. At least half of the people we have met have asked where they could get a puppy like Gromit and we have enthusiastically recommended Leerburg Kennels

Thank you for picking Gromit for us. A special thanks to Melissa who was very helpful with the shipping arrangements. We will send pictures in the near future, and a copy of his SCH III in about 2 years.

Sincerely,
Rick Germain

I would like to tell you that my CHUCHO-DERBY puppy is great. I believe that this puppy (7mo) has all the drives to do good police service work. This puppy has GREAT, I mean GREAT prey drive. It also has good defensive drive and very sound temperment.

Ed as far as my ORFEY-ANJA dog, this dog is doing great too. Great defense, full month grip and very calm on the sleeve. It has great fighting drive and is doing very well in obediencev - great focus.

Ed thanks for doing a great job in producing great dogs for trainers like myself to be able to work with and be proud of. Keep up the great work!!!

TESTIMONIAL:

Mr. Frawley,

Thank you for the beautiful male puppy; Tina, Orfey. He arrived in great shape; had a good meal of Eugenical puppy bites, and played for a while, then slept well. I didn't expect such a beautiful dog. He's going to the vet Friday. He's very lively.

I was a bit apprehensive buying a puppy I had not looked at, but this was a real surprise. Your staff has been totally professional and knowledgeable throughout the entire contact. There is simply no substitute for your years of experience as a professional breeder.

His is my first quality dog and it certainly is great. Thanks again; hopefully in two to two and a half years I can send you a copy of a Schutzhund title. Right now, for a few months, he will be a puppy, with prey drive reinforcement.

Ed,

Thanks aging for Hukka, he is absolute delight, everyone thinks he is awesome! Our vet thinks every shepherd puppy should be and behave like Hukka. I have started to take him to a kids soccer practices to socialize him really good with kids. Only have one problem, ball drive, he wants that soccer ball the worst way, the kids threw him the ball and he pounced on their soccer ball like a cat! My question is: how to correct him (or do I?) with out killing any drives in him? All I could think to do is give command "sitz and platz". Help me out here, please. He also runs to the end of the leash trying to get to the ball that the kids are kicking around, that's the one that really worries me, if I tell him no, won't he start thinking that balls are off limits?

Thanks,
Hanna-Leena

MY ANSWER TO THIS E-MAIL:

Hanna

He is only 8 weeks old, don't give him any corrections for this. Especially not sit and down, he is way way to young for these commands. Just retrain him with your flexi lead, by doing that there is nothing negative towards the ball. He just learns that there are times he needs to get a grip on himself. Always have your own ball attached to a string with you (also your hand towel attached to a string). If he shows too much attention towards something that you do not want him to, try and distract him with your own training aides (the ball or towel).

The most important thing is to continue to take him out and socialize him. Continue to develop the prey drive like I show you in the Puppy Bite Video and The First Steps on Bite Work tape.

Like I always say & quote:It could be worse, you could have a dog with NO DRIVE.

TESTIMONIAL:

Ed:

I received the Bite Training Video (video 101-B) and viewed it and it is excellent. Your bite video is a work of art and the detail you go into in each step is great . This is a very good starting point for me.

I never thought that schutzhund training was so scientific or that it deals with animal Psychology the way it does. My academic background is a B.Sc. in both Microbiology and Psychology with a Masters in Behavioral Science & Cardiovascular Physiology, Exercise Physiologist.

The more I read your training articles and the more times I watch the three videos that I have purchased the more my interest and desire to work with my pup increases. I want to bring her to her genetic potential. I think I am going to enjoy taking her through all the stages or levels of her training. This is a science project on applied animal Psychology.

I am impressed with your work with these animals, beyond a doubt you are an expert in this field. I am sure glad I surfed the net and found your web site. I wasted a lot of money and time with another breeder who sold me my other dog. The breeder was not 100% honest and did not know what in the heck he was doing or talking about.

I would like you to list the equipment I will need at the various stages of my training this Leerburg pup and let me know what you sell. I will purchase all of my training equipment directly from you as I know you have the best equipment for the job of training a schutzhund.

I have been playing with Zitta every day with the ball on the string and she loves it. She sits and downs on command already. I do not push her we go through it playfully and she wants to please. She is a mouthy little bitch I will say that. I am not correcting her for being mouthy I do not want to destroy her drive. I want to move on to the bumper on a nylon cord attached to a stick at this time.

I greatly appreciate all of your professional help and assistance. Your facility , videos and business procedures are first class. I plan to write a letter on my letter head addressing these feelings so that you may use in the future for individuals looking to purchase a dog from you for the first time.

Thanks for the individual assistance with Zitta , she is a real pleasure , loving , kind , full of piss and vinegar with nerves of steal she tries to take on my 100 pound male . She is not scared of anything and has a lot of heart.

TESTIMONIAL:

Hi,

Got my puppy from you in the spring (1996). He is the son of Wolf-Storm. I want you to know that this puppy has been wonderful...

He is learning tracking very fast along with obedience. He has a very determined work ethic yet not high strung. I'll let you know when I get him certified in S&R. (track, wilderness, water, avalanche, etc.) He is very red like wolf, so it looks like he'll be black and red (as opposed to black and tan.)

His nerves are very solid. He isn't acting dominant yet. I used a very loose boulder area (all rocks) to test him recently, usually the dogs have a hard time the first. They get on the loose rocks and get nervous. He was a little worried but did much better then most of the other dogs I've seen. (and they're 2-4 years old adult Vs him being a young pup) I will also be making him a drug dog in Grand Teton N P, but I hear it's better to wait till the dog is 1 year old to start..I forgot to mention that he so far has a very snappy obedience demeanor.

A TESTIMONIAL ON AN OTIS PUP:

Hi Ed;

Another Dana (Tine/Otis 10/97) rave. Saw the vet last week where she got her exam and the last of her shots. He was impressed the first time he saw her, though he didn't say much at the time. He's one of those quiet, non-commital guys you have to know for a while to have any idea what he thinks. But I have to tell you that on this last visit he couldn't praise her enough. And this from a vet who deals with lots of GSDs, many of which are working K-9s, schutzhund, etc. dogs. When we took Dana in to his office the first time we mentioned we'd gotten Dana with the idea of breeding our own dogs since we couldn't seem to find what we wanted locally. I was really impressed and proud - though the credit is rightfully yours - when he said, "By the way, if you do breed I may be interested in one of her puppies". Whether he eventually does or not, coming from him I think that's one of the finest compliments Dana could get.

Dana will be six month old in a couple weeks and is one beautiful pup - 42 pounds of absolute first rate shepherd in all respects. And now that she's had all her shots she'll be going to more places and meeting more people. And she does show off!! Now we can also begin our serious training.

Hello Ed:

Just wanted to drop you a line to thank you for selling me such a fine working bitch. Xena (Holly/Orfey breeding) received her SchH I today with high in trial. (72- 90- 96) Pronounced courage/fighting drive. With a little more work in the tracking phase, I hope to improve her scores for her SchH 2 in the fall.

Your tapes have been a great help especially the Training The Forced Retrieve with Tom Rose. The tape really assisted me and has really made Xena's dumbbell work reliable. Again, thanks for the great dog and I will be
sending photos of the trial in the near future.

Hi All;

I'm beginning to think I'll have to change one of the statements I made to you a while back. I said we've had a number of puppies in the past, which is true. But maybe not entirely. From what I've seen of Dana (Tina/Otis 10/6/97) so far, we've had puppies but not PUPPIES!!!. I have no way of knowing just how and why you selected her from the litter and designated her for us, but I doubt you could have done better. Now we know just what a puppy can and should be!! In all respects!! You know, I thought I knew a lot about dogs - puppies too - but Dana's showing me how much I DON'T know.

Ed hello. I Would like to thank you & your staff for your breeding experience, selection process, and veterinarian care that Leerburg Kennels provides. Leerburg is a first class kennel producing world class working GSD's. I very, very pleased with Cinder (Cinder v. leerburg who came yesterday). She is exactly what I was looking for and just as I explained to you in my letter. She went to the vet on thursday morning and got a clear bill of health. I took a stool sample and she is worm free. She wieghed 9.1 lbs.

TESTIMONIAL:

Ed,

Hope all is well with you. I just had to share a story with you concerning our dog, Elf Vom Leerburg, who is now 2 1/2 years old.

Our mini-van was stolen on Monday, and the thieves obviously had our keys, (house and church) and address... The following night, myself, Elf von Leerburg and one of the church deacons was confronted by about 15 angry teenagers, cursing and threatening us.

They came close but were afraid to attack because Elf was straining at the leash to get to them...tail wagging furiously, completely unafraid! We were able to call the police from a cell phone, but the teenagers vowed to return with pitbulls to kill the dog...I immediately went out and purchased a shotgun!

Had it not been for the dog, I would have been seriously injured or killed because all of these kids carry weapons, generally knives!

I want to thank you again, and offer this letter as a statement on behalf of your work there. This was my second confrontation (the first was in 1990 when an attacker had a gun but still ran from my first Leerburg dog!), and I hope it will be my last, but I know that my wife and 4 children sleep better with our Leerburg shepherd!

Thanks again,
Rev. Peter F. Hyatt

A foot note to the readers - Peter is an inner city minister that deals with drug addicts and gangs. He has purchased a couple of pups from me.

The following customer purchased 2 one year old Leerburg females.

It has already been two weeks since we got Java vom Leebrug & Mocha vom Leeburg. I just wanted to take the opportunity and thank you one more time for these two incredible dogs. They both do excellent on and off leash obedience. They are really good with ball retrieving, especially Mocha. On the other hand, Java is really good on her bite work. She is doing really great. But best of all, we put them on a track a couple days ago and Java was doing exceptionally good. She just wants to track. You sold us two great dogs. We think that there will be no problem whatsoever to put a Schutzhund Title on both of them. I think that we owe you a drink or two when you come to California.

Thanks again

Dear Ed, Just a note to bring you up to date on Ringo's progress. In February, Ringo obtained his Sch B title. We tried for his Sch 1 and got pretty close! On April 26th he got his first leg towards his C.D. He got second place with a score of 190.5 He'll do better next time. Further, he has one leg towards his AKC agility title with a score of 195. Love him and the new pup you sent me. She'll be a year old on the 21st of May. I may be intterested in an adult female with lots of energy and drive, in the future. If one comes available give me a shout.

Subject: Bianca/Otis Puppy

Thank you to everyone at Leerburg Kennel for a great Bianca/Otis Puppy. Her personality is excellent and kids and adults love her. She is very quite in her outdoor kennel, while I am at work or just inside the house. I had a concerned neighbors passing by yesterday to ask, if I still have the puppy, because she never hears her!!! She has tremendous prey drive and is fast - there is nothing better than the towel and ball on the string and lately trying to outwit my next move. Only thing we have to remember, is to have this toy out of sight, when she gets out of her crate in the morning, it is feeding time and when she is taken for her last outing before going to crate at night. If she sees it, forget about eating and doing "business." Her retrieval skills reminds me of one of your videos, where the puppy testing is shown. The first time I trew her a toy, she brought it right back and always does, unless wenoverdo it, as we did in the beginning. She is of course very mouthy, but the loudest PFUI and offering of a toy takes care of that. Her play-biting is actually on a rapid decline, which makes socialization, especially with little kids less of a challenge.

When she sees a new thing, she is initially very cautious or backs away if it is bigger or noisier, than what she saw last. However, she will always go back, investigate and the next time around "no problem." She has a clean bill of health from the vet. Her weight gain of 3 to 3.5 lbs per week is just right. She is not too skinny, not too fat. Her estimated weight as a LEAN adult is between 70 to 75 lbs. Both ears are up now full time and her coloration is getting more and more black - she is a beauty.

Once again, thanks a lot.
Hope to report back with a "Companion B" a year or so from now.
-Inge

Hi Ed,

I would like to let you, as well as your readers, know that the dog we got from you is being trained to assist the wheelchair bound. He is Sam, a Digit/Orfey Pup who is 11 months old now. His stable nerve and patience with allmthe mistakes that these persons make is quite remakable. I have one man I work with each Saturday for an hour with Sam. Sam, has been working with him for two months now and a strong friendship is forming. My friend has little control of his arms and hands, his verble skills are impaired as well as his being confined to a wheelchair for thiry-two years. Sam has brought many hours of fun and socialzation, and had provided a less boreing life of home confinement. I have also become involved with a young girl living in a nursing home. She is in love with Sam as well. I think the feeling is mutual. When Sam first met her he sat at her feet and looked into her eyes. I was so struck by this that we have made a weekly trip to see her. Sam is pulling her in the halls of the nursing home. You should see and hear the people who want a ride next! I'm looking into a cart for Sam to pull for competition which I feel would be great, and a hell of a way to get them involved with others.

Dar Mr. Frawley,

Since my husband has given you his opinion of Wini, I thought I'd give you mine: she's a delight. She has tons of energy and drive -- it's a good thing there's two of us to play with her! I love to play two-hose with her because she is so obviously crazy about the game. She is adapting well to our hot climate; at first she was nervous about our lake but now she goes and splashes around like a little kid. Following your recommendations for working dogs, we are socializing her like crazy. I have so much fun watching her experience new situations and environments. She is a very brave puppy; wants to run up to everyone and play. If she's surprised her hackles may go up but she stands her ground... and then wants to go play. :) The only thing she has NOT liked so far is her first wooden deck, but after a little encouragement and treats, she was walking all over it like a pro.

She is also doing very well with her obedience. She picks up on things so quickly!

Anyway, you know all this because you bred her! :) Just wanted to say how happy I am with her. Thanks for a great dog.

Sincerely,
Caryn Amaris Robinson

TESTIMONIAL:

This writing is so long overdue, it's insulting. I periodically look at your web site to see what kind of dogs you are breeding and yet I have never introduced myself to you.

Roughly 8 years ago I purchased a german shepherd puppy from a gentleman named Peter Hyatt on Long Island. This pup was a son of Natan, your premier dog. Argo is a red sable shepherd and weighs approximately 90 pounds and fortunately has never had any health problems.

I can't begin to tell you what an unusual, loyal, protective, affectionate and respectful animal you bred. When most people see Argo, they are impressed with his looks and the size of his head. He's only friendly to strangers after he has been properly introduced. He is overly protective of my Ford Expedition and doesn't like anyone coming on my property.

Interestingly, I don't have children but he has demonstrated a wonderful/charming side of his personality when exposed to small children. In fact, when I have guests in my home, Argo can charm the socks off everyone. When I first got him, he had more defensive drive than prey. Over the years he has been exposed to my female shepherd who has enormous prey drive and it must have rubbed off on him. He loves playing with a ball and any object that I throw and he can retrieve. The problem is that he doesn't willingly surrender the object and I have to pry it out of his mouth---I still wouldn't change anything about him.

I can't leave a room without him following me, even when he's eating! My parents have seen him walk away from his dinner to follow me throughout my home. The bond is like cement. This dog is truly my kindred spirit.

I know that you are more focused on breeding dogs for careers in law enforcement and search/rescue, but I thought that you might be interested in hearing from someone who is truly satisfied with the end result of your breeding program.

I believe that Argo would have been a good police dog when it came to chasing the bad guys down a street--but he might be questionable when it came to public relations work where numerous strangers would want to pet him.

Again, thank you for a wonderful companion and a beloved member of the family.

TESTIMONIAL:

Peko vom Leerburg

Ed,

I just wanted to send you a picture of Peko (Verro von Leerburg) that I bought from you 10/98. He is an awesome dog, a little bit of a knuckle head a times, but that is just what I wanted. He is not scared of anything, his obedience is very good. He is great around kids, and hates all other dogs (oh well), except my 11 year old bitch of course. I decided to keep him as a family dog and did no extensive work with him, but he is very eager to please. I get compliments from everyone that comes in contact with him. Everyone seems to want to know where he came from. I have always promoted your work and kennel. Thanks again Ed for giving me the opportunity to have this great dog.

TESTIMONIAL:

Mr. Frawley,

I just wanted to let you know how pleased I am with wire basket muzzle that you recommended for my Sharpei/American foxhound mix. We were previously using the Jafco plastic muzzle which was not wide enough to allow panting.

We use the muzzle every day for our morning exercise session in the park. The wire basket muzzle is wide enough to allow panting and has great air flow. I can now rest assured that my dog is not becoming overheated.

Thanks again.

TESTIMONIAL:

Good morning. Earlier this wek I receievd my order that I placed last week.
I ordered a police leash, videos for tracking and heeling and the book on "How
to Speak Dog".

This is the second heeling video that I purchased. The first one was viewed
so often that it finally wore out. It explains exactly what has to be done
in order to correctly train a dog to heel. I don't do competition but I used it
to train my two (2) GSDs and my Rottie. I also purchased your obedience
video and am using that as the cornerstone of my training for my dogs.Haven'thad a
chance to view the tracking video yet, that's this weekend. Have started
reading the book and I know that this will be useful.

This is the second police leash that I've purchased from you. I've also
purchased a 24 inch traffic leash as well as the training tab. These things
last forever and are well worth the price.

I know that I'll be buying more from you in the future. I appreciate the
quick turnaround time from order to delivery.

TESTIMONIAL:

Ed,

Diatan is going to be 5 soon - what a great 5 years it has been - he goes to work with Lynne and I every day and gets continuous comments on his looks, bearing personality and good naturedness - I have never been around a dog with a sense of humor before but he sure has one - he is responsive protective and dominant without being aggressive - the best description that I can come up with is "assertive without being aggressive" - yet on two occassions (both appropriate) I have seen his deep fight drive come out and express itself - in both situations he kept his head and when the need was gone he reverted right back to be being himself in a controlled fashion

Ed - I cannot thank you enough for the joy that you have brought into our lives by breeing Diatan and making him available to us.

I refer folks to your site all the time

Thanks and best regards

Hi Ed,

I just wanted to drop you a note to say thank you for supplying such good equipment, my Mom purchased a hard sleeve and cover and a tracking harness for my B-Day, what excellent quality they were... the site pictures do no justice to the actual products! Thank you so much for taking care of her...
