Mark Przybylski Should Resign

He lacks integrity - He needs to Go

I recently heard of a perfect example of tolerated corruption in USA schutzhund judging. This story was just one of many I have heard over the years. It concerned a German Judge that a club in California brought to America for a vacation. This judge allowed competitors to go through the off leash obedience routine holding their dog by the collar. I personally know of a top American judge who (this summer 2002) allowed the Sch 3 handlers and the FH handlers to lay their own tracks.

These are not isolated incidences. This has been going on for years and it has to stop. Bringing a friendly judge to a club trial because you know he is going to allow cheating is common knowledge in the sport.

People need to start to video tape these crooked trials and send them to Jim Elder (the new president of USA) Sending them to Mark Przybylski is a waste of time. For years Mark Przybyliski (head judge for Schutzhund USA) has known that this goes on. He has allowed it to go on. By doing nothing about it he condones it.

Przybyiski needs to go just like Paul Meloy went. Mark Przybylski lacks integrity. Things will never change as long as he is head judge. The SV in Germany just cleaned house - we need to do the same thing with what happens with these crooked judges. I compare this situation to the catholic church and little boys - people knew that priests were dirty for years and did nothing about it. Przybylski is like Cardinal Bernhard Law in Boston. Mark knew this crap was going on and chose to turn a blind eye. He does not deserve to be a judge.

I also plan on putting Marks obedience routine on the Schutzhund USA National DVD this year. It is beyond my comprehension how the head judge of Schutzhund USA could enter a dog in the nationals that had to be put on leash and retested for gunfire. It is beyond me how the head judge for Schutzhund USA could have a dog leave him on the obedience field. Jim Elder should look at the scorebook of this dog and see who the judges were that gave it the titles it has. I cannot see how the dog even got an SchH 1 much less a Sch 3.

The dog would be an embarrassment if it were shown in a club trial much less a national event. This was not only an embarrassment to everyone that was there watching but also to Schutzhund USA as an organization. I wonder what the SV Judge (Peter Jacobs) thought as he watched? Knowing that Mark was the head judge. Peter Jacobs is well known for being a top competitor and a judge in Germany. What can we say Mark is known for? A terrible trainer and a person of questionable character? If this is the kind of performance that comes from the HEAD JUDGE - then how can this man go out and judge a Schutzhund competition?

And for those that want to point out that there are people in every sport who are good coaches and judges that cannot compete at a high level - I agree. But these people also have integrity and that is something that Przybylski lacks.

When Elder gets proof (in the form of videos or other verifiable methods) that a judge has allowed cheating he needs to send a letter to the SV explaining what happened. He needs to tell them that he has proof. He then needs to tell the SV that this judge can never again come back to America to Judge a trial. I wonder how many times he will have to do this before the SV gets embarrassed and this will stop.

Elder also needs to convince Mark Przybylski to resign. There are a lot of very good judges in Schutzhund USA - those men and women deserve to be led by a better person.
