Tiekerhook IPO I UV Esthera v Tiekerhook PH I UV January 23, 2004 Hi Ed, Just an update. Lindy's fine and dandy- I weighed her on the nursing home wheelchair scale - 74.8#. Can I stop by the kennel and pick up wormer for her? She continues to go to the nursing home with me to visit the residents, although it's mostly the staff that are really taken with her. She does have two special friends though, that both owned Shepherds before they were admitted, and who miss their dogs terribly. They've both had times when they were too weak to get out of bed, and Lindy, as graceful as a dancer, will pop up onto the bed and lay quietly beside them so they can pet her and just be next to her. It's pretty special to see. On the other hand, Conrad was messing around the other night, and he put on one of those ugly over the head masks, and he had some kind of cape or something on - he came around the corner of the living room and startled Lindy - quick as a flash, she had both front feet on his shoulders and was growling in his face - she's also really taken to sounding the alarm when people come to the door - being as isolated as we are, I let her continue to bark, and I hold her collar when opening the door. No one ever takes a step across the threshhold. As soon as she hears OK, she stops and wags her tail. How lucky I am to have her in my life - thanks. Wendy Hi Ed, Regards, Anna Ed, I just want to update you on "Hydra" Quanta Vom Leerburg. She is doing awesome...her housebreaking was simple...zero accidents to date. Her confidence is unbelievable and is not afraid of anything. Very well with people, and I just brought her to the Police Department that I work at today and one of our secretaries had her 6 year old child visiting...well they got along like littermates...great temperament. As far as training she knows her name and Hier, and Sitz...and is starting platz....all with hotdogs of course. Her prey drive is out of this world....she is crazy for the rag and counters already....and when she grabs a toy and carries it around it's always full mouth right from the begining. This bitch will make a high scoring Schutzhund dog as well as a nice breeding female. Thank you again and I'll keep you updated on both as usual. Regards,
Ed and Cindy, I'm sending you some pictures of my LindyII/ Xando male pup from
training last week. He's 11 months now. He has progressed since
the last time we spoke. Cyrus
has very flashy, correct OB and understands exercises quickly. He isn't handler
sensitive, but very willing. He also has excellent hunt drive (he will search
for an object all day...seriously). In ring we don't track, but I have no
doubt in my mind that he would excel at it. I met Xando's previous
handlers last
weekend and from what I was told he got his nose from his sire. As far as
the bite work goes, he is maturing. When he commits the bite
is full and hard.
He has higher thresholds. The last couple of months he has consistently showed
interested in the game, which is more than the last time we were in contact.
I'm interested to see what he's like once he matures. He has displayed some
very occasional sharpness but other than that his nerves are good. I really
like his structure. He is very agile, athletic and light on his feet (73lbs
now). ( Anyway I thougt you might want
to see how one of your pups are progressing.
