Adopt A Paratrooper

Daniel Green & Ed Rosa

C Co. 2\508 PIR
FOB WAZI KWAH
APO AE 09354

If you,r your family, your civic group or your church group would like to support our troops by sending care packages to our troops I would ask that you consider adopting either Daniel Green or Ed Rosa.

These paratroopers in the 82nd Airborne are currently deployed with my son (Jeff Frawley) in the mountains of southern Afghanistan. They were deployed in Feb 2007 and will stay in Afghanistan for 15 months.

Both Green, Rosa and Jeff have already done tours in Iraq together together.

Jeff gets a lot of packages and mail from our family. In a recent phone conversation he told me that Green and Rosa never get packages and Rosa never even gets mail. He asked my family to send some of his packages to Green or Rosa. I thought I would pass Jeff's request on to the dog trainers on our Leerburg Web board.

Ed Rosa was "stop lossed" three days before his exit date from the army, which meant he is doing this 15 month deployment in Afghanistan with Jeff. He has been in the army for 6 or 7 years and wants to be a police officer when he leaves the army. He is one of my sons best friends and an outstanding person. I met him when Jeff returned from Iraq on his first deployment. He is soft spoken, a gentlemen who seldom drinks and is the heavy weight boxing champion for the 82nd airborne.

Daniel Green is engaged to a college student back home. She does not have a lot of money. Daniel is not a big person but he is an outstanding soldier. His size allows him to go into the small tunnels and caves they find in Afghanistan. (see the photo below) Daniel has his own band and hopes to make records when he returns from Afghanistan.

I can not tell you about some of the things my sons Company is doing. Most of it is classified and he will not talk about it. I can tell you that I went 8 weeks between phone calls and then when the call came it was a 7 minute call on a satallitte phone. Jeff went over a month without a shower. They did not ahve hot food for weeks.

These paratroopers are on the front line of our war on terror. You can't get any closer to it than they are. I know that anything people can do for them will be much appreciated.

I have included a few photos below. At the bottom of this page I have listed a few of the things I send Jeff.

Jeff Frawley re-enlisting while in Afghanistan for 4 additional years - he wants to go into Special Forces when he comes back. Daniel Green is holding the flag on your right (out of sight).

Right after Jeff re-enlisted - Adam Thompson and Daniel Green (two of my son's best friends) hold the flag for this photo.

Jeff Frawley, Daniel Green and Adam Thompson just before going on a mission.

Thompson wanted me to say that he desperately needs a girl friend :-)

Ed Rosa and Jeff Frawley - this photo was taken at a fire base in Afghanistan. They had gone a month without a shower. They only ate MRE meals, go on missions and increasing security for their fire base.

The short list of things I send:

Foil packages of tuna fish

Small packets of Mayo and relish (to mix with Tuna)

cheese whiz

wet ones

fly strips (those round tubes with fly paper that's pulled out)

beef jerky

tortillas (the ones with only 8 or 10 tortillas - not big packages)

cans of peaches

cans of oranges (not pineapple )

Easy Mac (this was a hit with them)

gum and or life savers

They die for Coppenhagen
