HI everyone,
I did a search and nothing came up. I am going to try using the obedience videos from this site but if I feel a need for a pro, do you have any references for the Virginia Beach/Norfolk area?
My breeder offered free training (her dogs are very well behaved) but she might have to move out of state in the next couple of months.
Thanks

Hi Remy,
Your puppy is a cutie!
I did a quick google search of "dog training + virginia beach VA" and got a LOT of results. I don't know what kind of obedience training you're looking for (formal competition, general training, etc.), but there seem to be plenty of places to investigate to find someone whose methods you like with whom you can work.
Also, why not start out with your breeder, if you like her training methods and results, and ask her for referrals when she moves? Or, just ask her for referrals<g>.
What kind of obedience are you interested in doing?

Hi everyone,
I should have given more info. When I referred to the search, I meant I searched to forums. I was hoping some of you would know because I have had some bad trainers in this area for a different dog.
Leigh, I will start with my breeder, she is a real sweetie for offering. She said she only does that for people who buy her pups because she wants us both happy. And THANKS, he is pretty cute.
Connie, My experience in any formal dog training is slim to nil. I did the whole Petsmart thing a few years ago and wasn't impressed. My plans are for basic obedience maybe a bit further. Basically, I want him to listen even in bad situations (other dogs, darting out the door, etc). I opted against Schutzhund or any other form of competition training. I am out of work right now so I have a lot of time to spend with him and don't want to mess him up.
